Jerry Matt
JERRY
MATT is currently a
supervisor/trainer of narcotic canine detection teams for a Drug Enforcement Agency task
force in California.
His 27 years in law
enforcement are dominated by his
26 years as a narcotics task force supervisor, the past fifteen of
which have been as a trainer/handler of narcotic detection canines.
During this time he was appointed as a member of the law enforcement
and education cadre in California.
He is a 1996 graduate of the U.S. Border Patrol National Canine
Facility Instructors course for detection canines, founding board member, past president
and current training coordinator for the California Narcotics Canine Association
(C.N.C.A.), past certifying official for the National Narcotic
Detector Dog Association and C.N.C.A.
In 1989 he graduated
from the National Danish Police detector dogs instructors course in Arhus, Denmark. He is an internationally
recognized instructor and consultant.
In addition, Jerry serves as a qualified expert witness on a
state and federal level in the training and handling of narcotic detection canines. He has
received numerous citations and awards recognizing his expertise in the field of narcotics
interdiction. Currently, he brings his vast knowledge and expertise to K.I.D.S, Inc. as a
consultant/advisor and trainer.
